Making new friends is like dating
Suddenly you’re expected to be self-sufficient, have your shit together and not eat mac and cheese for dinner.
You’re also forced to figure out the totally weird predicament of making friends as an adult. You’re put in school with dozens of potential buddies.
Compliments always go a long way, as long as they’re sincere.
After you’ve struck a few conversations, go in for the kill: ask them on friend date. You want to make them feel special, like you’re approaching them because you think you’ll get along well, not because you’re desperate for friends.
This time around, instead of just a deluxe version of the album, Taylor has released two 72-page magazines that include, "a variety of art created and curated by Taylor herself including her music, her paintings, her handwritten lyrics and more." So, if you aren't great at math that's 144 pages.
Before heading to the Target on White Bridge Road, Taylor shared on Instagram, "We always have this tradition of going to Target to go buy the album, and so we're going to go do that." Her cat Olivia was also in the video-- another clue that Old Taylor is alive and well.
She might suddenly have to get her kid down for a nap, but sometimes it breaks the ice, and you leave with the other mom's phone number with a chance for a first play date. And the lyrics to "Call It What You Want," seem to be ringing pretty true for the superstar, "Nobody's heard from me for months /I'm doin' better than I ever was," because she hasn't done something like this in quite sometime.
No, I’m not talking about putting up an ad on Craigslist. You don't wear your yoga pants to a first play date, (though you probably will by play date number three or four). After being in New York City for "Saturday Night Live" and a surprise appearance on "The Tonight Show" to honor Jimmy Fallon's recently deceased mother, Taylor was back in Music City, USA carrying on her tradition of heading to Target and buying her recently released album, .I was pretty nervous to head out to the first one on my own, until I realized most other attendees were on their own as well!Attending a Meetup based around an activity is perfect because it breaks the ice by automatically giving you something to chat about.
